Who & Why
Cassidy Bush, MS
Founder & Head Coach
Cassidy grew up in the Tri-Cities, where she quickly and happily dedicated her life to cheer and gymnastics. She began tumbling and gymnastics at the age of 2. She cheered at Eastern Washington Elite until the age of 13 when they closed their doors and, from there, continued training at All American Gymnastics until age 16. In addition to training, she began coaching at 14 years old and helped start a Special Needs Cheer team at All American as well.
Her freshman year of high school, she was asked to train with and compete for a Worlds team in Seattle, South Elite. So, her family started traveling to Seattle every weekend to help her get to the next level in her sport. By junior year, she was living with her coach in Seattle in order to fulfill her dream. She cheered in high school for three years and won All American every year. She was awarded Top All American twice, and upon returning to the Tri-Cities her senior year, was awarded GSSA West Coast Cheerleader of the Year.
She then received a partial scholarship to compete on The University of Louisville All Girl team. In her 4 years at Louisville, she and the team won 3 World championships, 4 National team championships, and 1 Group Stunt National championship. She also was awarded All American 4 years in college and the Top Gun Stunt Group award 3 of the years. All this was accomplished while also cheering at high caliber football and basketball games and coaching at Gym Tyme Allstars.
She graduated from The University of Louisville with a Bachelor’s in Psychological Brain Sciences and obtained her Master’s degree in Sport and Performance Psychology. She accomplished all of this while coaching youth and interning with the Sport and Performance Consultant at the University.
Over the years Cassidy has learned many different techniques, skills, and teaching methods from top-notch coaches around the world. Between Tri-Cities, Seattle and Louisville, Cassidy has now been coaching tumbling and cheerleading for 10 years. Her experiences, skills, and formal education set the stage for her sought-after coaching style.
While in Louisville, she quickly realized that there was a large difference between competitive cheerleading in Washington State versus the South. In returning to her hometown, she wanted to provide the advanced skills, intense desire to perform, and all-inclusive coaching methods to the most youth and adults possible. It’s a large goal, but she is no stranger to hard work. So, during a pandemic and nation-wide business closures, Cassidy founded The Academy of Acrobatic Sports.
